Gabriella R. Tallmadge was born and raised in San Diego, California. She received her BA in English from San Diego State University and in 2013, she received her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Gabriella’s poetry has received awards from the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, a Tennessee Williams Scholarship from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and was chosen by Dorianne Laux for inclusion in the 2014 edition of Best New Poets. Her poems appear widely in national journals such as Sycamore Review, The New School, Indiana Review, Passages North, and Crazyhorse,
She lives in San Diego County with her husband and their dogs.
